How long d90 battery last

The last time I used it, I was only able to make it about three hours on the battery The last time I 3 days ago charged the battery, I put it in the camera, fully charged, its dead again and i havent even turned the camera on. If everything looks right you might take your battery by the camera store, tell them what's going on, and ask if they would charge it on one of their chargers.

If it still fails that would rule out the charger, and if that fixes the problem it would point to the charger. While the battery is out look in the battery chamber and make sure the contacts look clean. If they are discolored clean them. Gentle pressure with a pencil eraser works well. Those batteries are pretty reliable. I have two in an MB-D80 grip and they are two years and 25, shutter activations old this month and still showing in the "New" category on the battery status.

Well, the battery has been charging for an hour and 50 minutes. I an tired need to turn in, so I unplugged and put the battery in the camera. I will look at it again in the morning and let you know. It's hard to say but my instinct tells me that you've got a bad battery. It could be something in the camera draining it but my gut feel is that it's the battery. Normally when a rechargeable battery goes bad it won't hold a charge for very long, and regardless of what the battery status indicator in your camera says that's what is happening.

It isn't going to help you out today but the next thing I'd try would be to charge the battery fully, check it in the camera to verify that it's full, and then take it out of the camera. If it discharges overnight just sitting on a table there is no question in my mind that the battery is bad since they should not do that. Sorry, that's about all I can think of.

I just noticed as we were driving, the green sensor light is blinking.. I changed the SD card, formatted, and the green light is still flashing. What could that mean? I have OCD I won't stop until I figure out what's going on. That indicates that the camera is trying to read the SD card. The indicator may also be used as a troubleshooting indicator but the manual doesn't mention it.

The SD card may be damaged. If you have another one try it and see if the problem persists. I suspect that's what is running your battery down though. Taking it in to the shop Monday. They said weeks on repair. Hate to be without my camera through the holidays. Thanks, Scott. I'm sorry to hear that but after hearing that the read light was on continually I was afraid that was going to be the eventual solution.

If you're in the Nashville area you can use my D60 for Christmas You might also be able to rent something for a few days wherever you are. Hope it works out. Wish we could have fixed a simple problem. No, the battery is specifically designed for use in the Nikon D90 and other selected cameras from Nikon. Lithium-ion batteries can hold a charge for a long time. However, these battery packs have a safety mechanism built-in that disables any re-charge if the voltage drops below a certain minimum level.

To avoid this safety-trigger to be activated, the battery pack should be charged at least once every few months. The contents of Lithium-Ion batteries is under pressure and the packs can explode if exposed to extreme heat.

Lithium-Ion battery units should therefore never be incinerated and should not be thrown into the household trash, but put into the recycling stream.

Most places that sell camera batteries will also accept them back for recycling. A potelyt. PW , Aug Is there a car charger available for the EN-EL3e? Is the EN-EL3e available in colors other than gray?

Any additional comment or suggestion for improvement would be welcome. Your feedback optional. It's about a 7 hour time lapse. I'm not sure I'll have time to test for myself as the timer will just make it here before I need it. I wish I could find an AC adapter locally but the only ones I can find are after market and I don't think I can get one in time.

Plus an after market power supply scares me. That's actually something I was going to guess. I wanted to hit , because you do not need display and AF.

And my personal record in normal use of camera shooting RAW only was about , every image AF'd, quite a few displayed. If you used BG and three batteries, you could get a virtually continuous shooting without interruption, just replacing one battery alternatingly. I needed about seven hours.

I have 2 batteries and I was debating buying a third. I don't have time to order a battery grip unless I pop for next day shipping. But it appears I can get by with out one.

My plan was start with three charged and rotate them through but I was afraid I wouldn't have enough time to charge before one went dead. I was always very happy with the battery life for every day and event shooting. I rarely have to swap batteries during an event. I am not looking forward to putting that many shutter clicks on my camera but what the heck. I need about 21 hours over 3 days.

The GoPro Hero works well but I hate the wide angle and it's not so good for low light indoors. Is it worth the hefty price tag? We take a look at the Cine, the high-end model in this series.
